Grapeworks Distilling Seeks Part-Time Tasting Room Associate Grapeworks Distilling in Woodinville, Washington is looking for a part-time Tasting Room Associate to work in our local tasting room operations. Grapeworks is a new distillery dedicated to making premium spirits that emphasizes the uniqueness of the process and the source of the product. We specialize in the production of “unconventional spirits from the ground up”. Initial products in production include single varietal grape vodkas, brandy, grape spirits and grappa. The position requires the ability to work on weekends and some holidays. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. Specific Duties Include:<BR style="mso-special-character: line-break"><BR style="mso-special-character: line-break"> · Greet and serve customers spirit samples and educate them about our products. · Operate cash register including opening and closing procedures. · Insure the retail area is stocked properly each day. · Upkeep the condition and appearance of the retail facility including the bathrooms, windows, and entry area. · Recycle and empty the trash daily or as needed · Assist in execution of public and private retail events including tours as needed. · Assist in retail room advertising including the daily setting out of A-Board signs. · Assist in monthly inventory procedures as required. · Assist in the participation of outside industry festivals and events as needed. <BR style="mso-special-character: line-break"><BR style="mso-special-character: line-break"> Position Requirements: Education/certification: · Minimum of a high school diploma. Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus. Must pass the Washington State MAST training within 30 days of employment. Required Knowledge and Experience · Must be flexible with scheduling and willing to work weekends and some holidays. · Must be 21 years of age. · Ability to stand for extended periods and capable of reaching, grasping and lifting items up to 40 pounds. · Must have knowledge of all aspects of distillery operations and the craft culture. · Must have strong communication and leadership skills with good team dynamics and possess strong planning and organizational skills. · Must have strong interpersonal and management skills. · Must be able to operate a tablet cash register system. · Must have strong communication skills in both oral and written formats. · Must be customer-oriented Compensation based on experience and knowledge. Initial products in production include single varietal grape vodkas, brandy, grape spirits and grappa. The position requires the ability to work with our head brewer and winemaker at our sister companies in Olympia, WA and Zillah, WA To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. Specific Duties Include:<BR style="mso-special-character: line-break"><BR style="mso-special-character: line-break"> · Develop new and innovative recipes and processes for the production of unconventional high-quality spirits. · Perform all functions required to produce grape and grain spirits from the ground up including mashing, fermentation, distillation, finishing, cellaring, packaging, and warehousing. · Represent the distillery in marketing and promotional events. · Create and maintain a program for conducting distillery tours including public participation events. · Train, inspire and manage a passionate crew as required. · Manage acquisition, storage and inventory of raw ingredients, barrels and packaging inventories. · Maintain appropriate records (quality control, TTB, State reporting) · Develop and maintain quality control and safety program. · Develop annual budgets and monitor progress of cellar financial performance. <BR style="mso-special-character: line-break"><BR style="mso-special-character: line-break"> Position Requirements: Education/certification: · Minimum of an Associate's Degree in technical related field and at least two (2) years distilling experience using column stills. Required Knowledge and Experience · Must be willing to work as required including some long hours and weekends. · Must have a solid understanding of all aspects of distillery operations including fermentation, distilling, cellaring, lab analysis and quality control, warehousing, and sanitizing. · Must have strong communication and leadership skills with good team dynamics and possess strong planning and organizational skills. · Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills. · Must be computer literate and proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite programs. · Must have a strong mechanical background with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems. · Should have a good understanding of lab operations /quality assurance /quality control. · Should have inventory management experience; ordering raw materials and parts, recording and monitoring raw materials and parts in house.
