  10. Fermentation space in your vessel

Hi, Fermenters generally have 20% freeboard, who's the term describing the headspace above the liquid. It's important to have enough freeboard to prevent blowout from losing too much volume.
  11. Hi guys, Can anybody tell me a good ballpark percentage for the amount of space you should provide for fermentation in a fermentation vessel? I currently use 5 gallon glass carboys and my mash usually takes from half to three-fourths of the volume. A) Is excess space in a fermentation vessel detrimental to the mash in any way, 2) if so, what proportion of space to mash is recommended to avoid any potential detrimental effects? Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks! -j

Hi All, We're starting up as a new distillery on Bainbridge Island and hoping to be producing by the end of this year. We are currently in the lengthy TI permit approval process, so we aren't holding our breath! 22. Sorry guys meant to intro myself last year. I am an active member of several guilds. I design and manufacture distillery equipment to best suit your needs. There are probably already a couple distilleries in here running batches on our equipment. We are not limited to equipment, I can help with production, setup, distillers enzymes etc. If there is anything I can help with, dont hesitate to give me a shout! Be safe out there!
  23. deerfish stills columns made in montana!

Im not sure how this guy got in here. This company has no business building stills. They use rubber inner tubes for gaskets, downcomers that are incorrect, condensers that are too small, and most the stuff they sell is bought from other equipment suppliers. Steer clear, just a heads up! And just a note to admin. Ive been here a year and do not come here to sell equipment. This is just a friendly heads up to other distillers. This stuff is not cheap, and shouldnt have to be purchased twice!
  24. MJW GRAIN INC

I'm looking forward to exploring more varieties and malts from small farms. So let's stay in touch! All the best,
